UPDATE: Vaccinations and Immunisations from 1st March 2023

In line with NHS Highland direction your GP practice will no longer be responsible for the delivery of vaccinations and immunisations effective 1st March 2023, including childhood immunisations.

After 1 March 2023 all vaccinations will be NHS Highland run clinics held in the community. Patients eligible for vaccination will be invited via letter to attend or book the appointment.

Patients can direct questions about child or adult immunisations to the NHS Highland Service Delivery Centre (SDC) helpline: phone 08000 320 339, Mon-Fri, 9:30am-5:00pm. It is requested that patients wait for an appointment letter before calling the NHS Highland SDC to make an appointment.

Community Pharmacies will deliver vaccines and immunisations required for foreign travel. The details of pharmacies providing this service can be found on the NHS Highland website which will continue to be updated as pharmacies go live.

for details of current vaccination clinics. More info is on our Covid vaccination page.

COVID Status Certification (Covid Passports)
Please note the following statement from the Scottish Government:
Please do not contact your GP Practice to ask for a Covid vaccination passport or status certificate – they will not be able to provide any standard document.
The Scottish Government have now launched a website which can be used to access your vaccination records. You can also call 0808 196 8565.
Please note, the website asks for a username. If you have never been issued a username, you can sign up for one by using the "recover username" option.

Appointments

As our appointments fill up quickly we recommend you phone when lines open at 8am.

Please note our phone lines are open from 8am-1pm and 2-5pm for booking appointments.

Repeat prescriptions and samples can be dropped off in the relevant box at reception.

Your prescription will then be sent to your preferred Pharmacy.

Practice Phone System
The practice has a call handling system which will enable us to handle your call more effectively. Please be advised, when calling to make an appointment with any clinician, including a GP, the reception staff will ask the reason you require an appointment to ensure we deal with your call appropriately.  We would appreciate your support and kindly ask you give as much detail as possible to help the receptionist to handle your call in accordance with our new systems.

Practice Services
The practice has 7 Doctors, 2 Registrars, 1 Primary Care Practitioner, 2 Practice Nurses and 2 Healthcare Assistants.  We also have close links with health visiting services, local community midwives, community (district) nursing staff, community psychiatric nurses some of whom may offer clinics in the surgery.

Out of Hours
The practice phone lines close at 6pm. Between 6pm and 8am Monday to Thursday and after 6pm Friday until 8am Monday morning please phone 111 (NHS24, freephone). The staff at NHS24 will ask you for information about your health and condition and will advise on the most appropriate course of action. This may include offering advice only or advising you to attend a pharmacy. If they feel you need to be seen they will pass your case to Highland Hub who will be in touch to arrange for you to attend the Urgent Care Centre in Inverness or in some cases provide a home visit.

In an emergency please phone 999 and speak to the ambulance service.

Appointments
These are by appointment which can be made between 8.00am and 5.00pm and some can be pre-booked.  It is hoped that an appointment can be arranged on the same day if you telephone the surgery at 8am, although this is subject to availability and you may be directed to the triage GP to assess your problem if appointments are in short supply.  We will see patients as extras based on medical need following discussion with the triage GP.
